USB Recovery

So, after much Youtube research, I found a free download from recovering-deleted-files.com. I haven't registered the software (Data Recovery Pro), but I was able to preview the 19 FILES I had saved on it. I could preview the graphic design images perfectly...poster and all. I guess I'm just concerned about my privacy if I choose to give them my name and email address to register it, but I really don't want to retype some of my notes. Any suggestions?

I'm to a stopping point with this logo, however, I feel that it's still fairly early to call it finished. I like the typography and the tomato. I'm still playing with the composition though.

I like the layout for a web page graphic. I wanted something that could stand at the top of a website and be visually interesting while still very clean. The tones of red are comfortable, but the tomato itself feels somewhat active. The deep gray adds some interest. I think black is great, very clean, but I think it's one of those very expected colors... So I'm using the gray to kind of play off that expectation a little bit. I want it to, very subtly, involve the viewer... This logo shouldn't stand out very starkly, but it should stand strong...

That's what I'm going for anyway.

here's the brief:
http://99designs.com/logo-design/contests/design-fun-zesty-logo-startup-brand-55995/brief

Info: Urban Critters
The company offers pet services; Predominantly Pet minding (Holiday Service) in your own home - cats, dogs, birds etc.
dog walking and dog training

Suggestions;
Would like something original, please no more clipart! I would like an abstract or pictorial image which will stand out by itself, an image where people know its Urban Critters without having to read the name.

info:
Brief Overview
We had customers before we even had a name or website. The reason is why we think we're also unique. We do financial and business consulting for many types of businesses but we do not assing the work to any one person, it's collectively addressed by a team of 5 professionals. We only take on 3-5 clients per year because it allows us to focus. It's called Fox Walk because a fox walks econimically, efficiently, and quickly all while being aware of all surroundings.
Brand Name
Fox Walk is the name of the company. www.foxwalkllc.com
Target Audience
Funded startups and small companies with 1-10M in revenue.
Requirements
Have fun with this and be creative. We really like our name FoxWalk and what it stands for, but it is kind of disruptive to a traditional consulting idea... which we like but still need to remain professional. Our logo should reflect our name and why we named it Fox Walk but also reflect that we are professional and can compete with the best consulting firms that are out there. We are younger, more nimble and offer at least a team of 5 professionals to each client's needs.

Candy alphabet

In the beginning finding the letters were very easy till I found out that I could not get a letter V and Q and L were also difficult to find. I found most of them so I am pretty proud of myself for that. The theme for this alphabet was suppose to be all candy bars then I changed it to just anything that has chocolate in it. Because I could not find a candy bar that had Q in it or V. Hopefully this doesn't look too bad. I know that mine is not the best alphabet but I did have fun and tried my best. :) Thanks.

Logo Project

We are a small boutique Toronto bakery that specializes in cupcakes. We bake because it's our passion... The personality we are trying to get across is - cute, fun, and perhaps a little bit whimsical because who doesn't love cupcakes?!

The name "The Itty Bitty Bakery" is required in some form in the logo, with the "THE" part not featured as prominently. We are looking for a logo representing some form of a cupcake. We love chibi, japanese cartoon style, pastel as well as bright colours (especially purple!) - think big eyes (not human, more cartoon), rosy cheeks and the like. We aren't too particular about the writing style, it just has to work with the overall design of the logo. Keep in mind that it has to be easily translatable because it will be on stickers, etc. Have fun with it!

HANA GRILL

I wanted something different.

Our customer base shop at high end malls. A typical mall would have either a Nordstroms, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, or Saks Fifth Avenue. Our customers are used to eating Japanese food and could distinguish between quality and run-of-the-mill sushi rolls.

Today--- RSCC Student, Tomorrow---- The Next Big Thing?

Hey guys! I promise I'll get some more of my artwork up and less of these articles, but I just thought I'd post this to encourage positive thinking when it comes to our ideas.

These young entrepreneurs didn't let negative people and creative obstacles stand in thier way. Who knows, maybe some of us might appear on one of these lists in the future.

I also thought it was cool that the founder of 99 Designs is on the list, since we're doing logo design:

Help, Design Dilemma!

Okay, here's the story. I went to the UPS store yesterday evening to print out my Imagination Library poster. Normally, I go to Staples but I figured I could save time and gas going up the street to get the job done. So I tell the clerk what I need and she pops in my jumpdrive (the one I always use in class) into the computer and POOF....ALL MY FILES ARE MAGICALLY GONE! They were there fifteen minutes before I arrived when I was using it on my laptop at home.

I thought this was totally random and strange, but figured that maybe something was up with THEIR computer and decided not to panic until I tried it out back home. That's when I panicked...not working at home either. So I called today to tell them the story and they said that nothing of the sort had happened before. Thank goodness I saved the file to my laptop's desktop and got my other design work from this blog.

My history and geology notes are gone, but I've already taken those first exams and have hard copies of the notes in my folders. Hadn't printed some of latest lecture notes off yet so I'll have to retype them over break. I got lucky this time, but I'll definitely be extra careful in the future. I just have one question: DO ANY OF YOU KNOW ANY SAFE, FREE FILE RETRIEVING SOFTWARE I COULD DOWNLOAD TO SEE IF I CAN GET MY STUFF BACK? PLEASE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

Poster Re-Vamp

Made some small changes following critique. Tried to change the red and yellow sign to a book, but it wasn't working out too well. I still think it looks pretty good despite that. Let me know what you think!

updated poster

poster without candles

This picture was illustrated from a pic I have of my little cousin. He's a great kid.

100,000 rainbow books!

Here is my newest one, I really like this one more than the other one. Tell me what you all think please. I would really like to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

This is my 100,000 Free Book project. The boy and the books were all hand drawn onto photoshop by my tablet. I really like how it turned out and I was not expecting that the books would look so good as rainbows and the boy be silhouetted. The only thing that I would really like advice on is what I should do about the text. That is my biggest concern and what I need help on. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Poster Inspiration

Here's the picture that started it all...

This way, this way~

Poster design for the Imagination Library. For this design I wanted to break away from the idea of having a giant train in your face. I wanted to focus more on the content of childrens' books. After flipping through a few of my younger brother's books I noticed that most contained stories of younger animals, so I thought I'd give that a try.

My 7 Hour Labor of Love

I decided to ditch my train motif and start from scratch. I was inspired from a picture of stacked books in grass. My imagination took off from there. Books make me feel free, creative, curious, and peaceful. Some of the most beloved fairytales and stories take place in nature. These whimsical stories combined with a child's innocence and adventurous spirit are all organic in a sense, hence the outside scene. Not to mention, Tennessee's beautiful landscape is by far its most endearing quality. I highlighted some of the best features of this program to really entice parents to sign their kids up. Hopefully there aren't any typos :)
